Kristin Fisher was hired by CNN in July 2021 as the station's Space and Defense Correspondent. As the Space and Defence Correspondent at CNN, she's responsible to cover everything ranging from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the advent and growth of tourism to space. As the daughter and the mother of two NASA astronauts Kristin grew up in the industry of space. She spent the last five years covering the Biden and Trump Space Policy of the Administration as a White House Correspondent for FOX News. Over the course of that time she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trial as well as two initiatives to end the corona virus pandemic, in addition to two distinct administrations' efforts. The extensive trips she took with the President and Vice-President included an official trip to Afghanistan that she made together with Donald Trump. Kristin was a local television reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., where she earned an Emmy Award for her work as an "one-man-band" reporter prior to joining CBS in 2015. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her skills behind the camera back in the year 2014. The company specialized in making documentaries for corporate clients, including Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Journalism from Boston University. She and her husband, who is three years old, daughter live in Washington, D.C.
