Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won the Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney is the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised with her four siblings. As a child, Delaney fantasized about becoming a reporter for the court. She began modelling at the age of 14 and later landed commercial opportunities when she relocated from the south of England to New York. Her first role acting was as a young girl in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of television shows, films and dramas after that.
